WINCHESTER, Va. (Sept. 24-25) — Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.Va., outdueled hometown driver J.T. Spence on Saturday at Winchester Speedway to win the Super Late Model portion of the Winchester 200. Richards earned $10,000 for the unsanctioned victory at the 3/8-mile oval. | Slideshow

Spence, who like Richards earned $1,000 for a 25-lap semifeature victory earlier Saturday evening, finished second in the 50-lap finale. Rick Eckert of York, Pa., was third followed by Greencastle, Pa., drivers Gary Stuhler and D.J. Myers. Ronnie DeHaven Jr. of Winchester, the weekend's fast qualifier, was sixth.

Richards and Spence started on the front row of the 50-lapper with Spence holding the point the first four laps, Richards took control on the fifth lap and was facing lapped traffic after just a dozen laps. Following a lap-17 caution for debris, Spence was hot on the heels of Richards, but couldn't find a way past. Richards held on to lead the rest of the way.

Notes: Richards drove an Ernie Davis-owned Rocket Chassis with a Roush Yates Engine sponsored by Ernie D's Enterprises. ... In Saturday's first semifeature, Richards took the lead from Ronnie DeHaven Jr., on the 21st of 25 laps for the victory that gave him a front-row starting spot for the main event. ... J.T. Spence, meanwhile, overtook Jeremy Miller on lap 20 to win his 25-lapper. ... Spence also picked up $2,000 for capturing Friday's tuneup feature over Ronnie DeHaven Jr. and D.J. Myers. ... Among drivers failing to make Saturday's main event: Brad Omps, Tom Decker, Austin Hubbard, Denny Bonebrake, Ray Kable, Jason Covert, Chuck Clise and Darryl Hills. ... Gerald Davis won the weekend's Limited Late Model feature over Walker Arthur and Trever Feathers. ... Winchester wraps up the 2010 season on Oct. 8-9 with the Small Car Nationals, which includes a $1,500-to-win event for Limited Late Models.
