BUSTI, N.Y. (June 9) — The fourth of four leaders, sixth-starting Dutch Davies of Warren, Pa., raced to victory Sunday at Stateline Speedway for his first win on the Kennedy Motorsports United Late Model Series since 2003.

Davies earned $3,000 in the Lynn Seamens Memorial in taking the checkers ahead of David Scott of Garland, Pa., who was racing for just the second time since breaking his right wrist in a racing accident last month at Eriez Speedway. | Slideshow

Doug Eck of Corry, Pa., was third followed by Dick Barton of Ashville, N.Y. Greg Oakes of Franklinville, N.Y., rounded out the top five finishers in the 21-car field.

Hometown driver and polesitter Randy Lobb beat Eck, who started outside the front row, to the line on the first lap, but when Lobb slipped in turn four on the second circuit, Eck edged ahead.

Chuck Parker drew a lap-three yellow when he stopped trying to exit the track, and Scott came alive on the restart, slipping between Eck and Lobb to gain the second spot.

Second-row starter Denny Fenton went aroujnd on the fifth lap, forcing Chad Valone to spin, for the second of three cautions.

Eck, Scott, Scott Gurdak and Davies were the top four for the restart, and another yellow appeared when Scott was charged with jumping the gun. The next restart was clean with Scott on the high side behind Eck. Scott made a bold move down the backstretch to pass Eck, only to lose it in turn four, dropping back to third.

Davies was the next Eck challenger and took the spot one lap later. Davies began to build a lead as Scott caught Eck again this time for the runner-up spot.

At the halfway mark, Davies led Eck and Scott by nearly a straightaway. Lapped traffic was the challenge for Davies now as Scott finally took second from Eck. With 10 laps remaining Davies had a sizeable lead over Scott and Eck and handled the slower cars the rest of the way to win the 30-lapper.

Notes: Davies drives a No. 40 sponsored by Hoover Oilfield Supply, Genesis Shocks and Gafner Jewelers, which also sponsored the night’s racing. ... Steve Kania of Waterford, Pa., won the Limited Late Model feature and Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., won the Crate Late Model feature. ...
