Notes: The 2019 USA Nationals marks the 32nd running of the crown-jewel event that began in 1988. The event is sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series. … The two-day format features double heat races and a dash on Friday that will be used to set the top 16 drivers for Saturday’s 100-lap finale. Saturday’s action includes consolation races to set the remainder of the starting grid. The top two finishers in each heat race will qualify for the dash. The dash finish determines how they will start the 100-lapper. … The purse for the 28 feature starters was increased by $15,950 this year, which includes raising the start money to $3,000 up from $2,000. ... A complete program for NASCAR-sanctioned Limited Late Models is scheduled both Friday and Saturday. … The weekend kicks off Thursday with a complete program paying $6,000 to win for WoO Late Models, along with a full program for USRA Limited Late Models. … Seventeen drivers have won the race, eight more than once; Hall of Famers Scott Bloomquist and Billy Moyer top the list with five wins apiece. … Bloomquist last won in 2010, while Moyer’s five victories came among the first six editions of the event. … Moyer has 27 feature appearances, including the first 15. … Along with his five wins, Moyer has four runner-up finishes. … The last 10 USA Nationals have produced nine winners, including seven winners in the last seven years. … Two-time winner Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, Wis., is the only home-state winner. Mars has 20 feature appearances, with 10 top-five finishes. His victories came in ’96 and ’09. … Brandon Sheppard’s victory last season was the first by an Illinois native and came in his sixth USA Nationals start. … Three of the previous 17 USA Nationals winners traveled more than 1,000 miles one-way to get to the New Richmond, Wis., oval. Tim McCreadie of Watertown, N.Y., traversed 1,131 miles, followed by Rick Eckert (1,066 miles) of York Pa., and Jonathan Davenport (1,046) of Blairsville, Ga.
