Carrier tops Casebolt for $5,000 K-C victory

ALMA, Ohio (July 1) — Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, W.Va., notched his second O'Reilly All Star Late Model Series victory of the season Friday at K-C Raceway to extend his series points lead.

Carrier overtook polesitter Steve Casebolt of Richmond, Ind., with nine laps remaining in the 40-lapper en route to a $5,000 victory at the 3/8-mile oval. | Slideshow

"I didn't know if I could have got him if he didn't spin his tires off of (turn) two just a little bit," Carrier said. "This is a good way to start the Fourth of July weekend."

Donnie Moran of Dresden, Ohio, was third followed by Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., and Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.

Among cautions were a lap-seven yellow for a Frank Heckenast Jr. spin and a lap-10 yellow when Brad Neat slowed.

Notes: Carrier's Grover Motorsports-owned Rocket Chassis has a Grover Racing Engine and sponsorship from Engines Inc., Cox Wrecker Service and Blue Ridge Machinery and Tools. ...
