BEDFORD, Pa. (Sept. 8) — Dylan Yoder of Selinsgrove, Pa., wrapped up the biggest weekend of his racing career with a $5,055 victory at Bedford Speedway and his first-ever victory on the Three State Flyers circuit.

Yoder, who won Friday night's regular-season event at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway, started outside the front row and led all 55 laps at the 5/8-mile fairgrounds oval for his richest career victory. | Slideshow

Polesitter Austin Hubbard of Seaford, Del., settled for second in the event delayed a week by a Labor Day weekend rainout. Jeremy Miller of Gettysburg, Pa., was third followed by Jason Covert of York Haven, Pa., and series points leader Mark Pettyjohn of Milton, Del.

Yoder shot ahead of Hubbard at the start of the while while Covert zoomed in to challenge Hubbard for the second spot. The race’s most serious crash halted action on the ninth lap when Coleby Frye of Dover, Pa., briefly climbed the turn-three wall before his car returned to the racing surface.

Yoder pulled away on the restart to control the next 16 green-flag laps, although Hubbard, Covert and the fast-closing Miller closed in on the leader amid traffic. Miller took third from Covert on the 25th lap just before the next caution.

Resuming the race with another long stretch of green-flag racing, Yoder again built a lead before traffic allowed Hubbard to close again. Yoder got away from the field again on the next restart and completed his convincing victory.

Notes: Yoder’s No. 24 is powered by a Miller Racing Engine and sponsored by Aubrey Alexander Toyota, S&R Repairs Towing and Recovery, Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic and Schaeffer’s Racing Oil. ... Jim Yoder, driving a car nearly identical to his son, finished a lap down in 14th, crossing the line just behind Dylan. ... Jim Sacco topped Kerry Molovich for a victory in Bedford's Semi-Late division. ... The Three State Flyers finale is scheduled for Sept. 27-28 at Roaring Knob Speedway in Markleysburg, Pa., a $7,000-to-win event.
