What won the race: Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark., led all 50 laps of the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series opener to pick up a $2,500 payday. He held off a late-race charge from Garrett Alberson of Las Cruces, N.M., to notch his first-ever triumph on the circuit.
Key notes: The 29-year-old Moyer recorded his first win of the 2017 season. ... Alberson's runner-up finish was his second in as many nights. He also chased Timothy Culp across the finish line in Friday night's Pelican 50 at ArkLaTex Speedway in Vivian, La. ... Fast-qualifier Hunter Rasdon finished third. ...
