Ben Watkins celebrates his first career FUEL touring victory.
What won the race: Polesitter Ben Watkins of Rock Hill, S.C., raced to his first career Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series victory, holding off second-starting Travis Pennington by 0.562 seconds at Lavonia Speedway for the $3,000 victory. David McCoy was third, 0.929 seconds back.
Key notes: Watkins entered fresh off a $4,900 I-95 Late Model Challenge victory at Fayetteville (N.C.) Motor Speedway on Memorial Day weekend. ... Fifteen of the 20 starters finished the race, 13 of which were on the lead lap. ... Chris Segars, Jason Dehn, and Jonathan Edwards did not start the feature. ...
