What won the race: Emerging in a late three-car battle for the lead, Chad McClellan of Stoystown, Pa., ran down race-long leader Josh Holtgraver to lead the final two laps. Holtgraver led the first 23 of 25 circuits and held onto second after inadvertent frontstretch contact with Ryan Montgomery at the white flag sending Ryan Montgomery spinning in turn one.
Quotable: "We moved down on the race track a bit and found the traction down there," the 37-year-old winner said. "I saw Josh was slowing down a bit. I think he used his tires up a bit, and I still had mine hooked up and we made the pass on the bottom. I struggled early on with the car tonight. It's a brand new car for us this year, but I think we're starting to figure things out."
Key notes: McClellan notched his third victory overall in 2014; he had weekly victories at Winchester (Va.) Speedway and Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pa. ... McClellan was a half-straightaway behind Holtgraver with 10 laps remaining when he began reeling him in. ... Ryan Montgomery received The Brake Man's Tough Brake of the Night for his late spin that knocked him out of the third spot. ... Holtgraver apologized for the contact with Montgomery, saying he didn't realize he was in the groove below him. ... The race was the first on the series at the track recently reopening by the Troy Shuknecht family.
On the move: Jamie Brown of Jamestown, N.Y., gained 11 positions in finishing seventh.
Winner's sponsors: McClellan's Lazer Chassis has a Hendren Racing Engines with sponsorship from Fieg Brothers Coal, Mark Smith Shock Therapy and Onetime Body & Graphics.
Car count: 19
Heat race winners: John Waters, Max Blair
Next series race: June 7, Roaring Knob Mtsprts Complex (Markleysburg, PA) $2,000
