Mark Whitener takes the checkers for his Crate Late Model victory.
What won the race: Surviving multiple late cautions polesitter Mark Whitener of Middleburg, Fla., overtook fourth-starting Jamie Perry of Ringgold, Ga., on lap 23 of the 40-lap feature capturing the $4,000 victory at East Alabama Motor Speedway in the Crate Late Model portion of the Bama Bash. Whitener took the checkers ahead of Larry Harrod by 1.593 seconds.
Key notes: The race had three different leaders; Jason Manley led laps 1-3. ... Jason Perry led 4-22. ... Mark Whitener led the remainder of the feature. ... 11 of the 25 starters finished on the lead lap. ... The race was slowed by nine cautions; seven of them fell in the remaining seven laps. ...
