WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (Oct. 16) — The 10th annual Liberty 100 was split into two races, but it still had a single winner. Darren Miller of Milledgeville, Ill., swept the spec-engine and open-competition engine events at West Liberty Raceway on Saturday to collect $8,000 in the season-ending event.

Miller, who earned $3,500 apiece for each 50-lap victory plus a $1,000 bonus for the sweep, capped his recent return to driving with his most lucrative payday of the season.

In the open-competition feature, Miller outran Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, Iowa, for the victory while Jason Utter of Columbus Junction, Iowa, finished third. Nick Marolf of Moscow, Iowa, and Chris Simpson of Oxford, Iowa, rounded out the top five.
