Rallying Satterlee grabs $5,000 win at Eastside

WAYNESBORO, Va. (May 3) — Reigning series champion Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, Pa., rallied from his seventh starting spot Friday at Eastside Speedway for a $5,000 victory on he Three State Flyers circuit.

Satterlee took the checkers nearly five seconds ahead of sixth-row starter Jason Covert for his first victory of the season in 19 starts overall. | Slideshow

Austin Hubbard of Seaford, Del., who started 10th, finished third with Jeremy Miller of Gettysburg, Pa., and Scott LeBarron of Dover, Pa., rounding out the top five finishers on a rugged surfaced at the 3/8-mile oval.

Satterlee, who won four series races in 2013 en route to his first touring championship, notched his first circuit victory since Sept. 1, 2012, at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway

Trever Feathers of Winchester, Va., a series winner the previous weekend at Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek, Md., started ninth but was part of a first-lap caution and went to the back.
