Rainouts, cancellations for late July
Among special and sanctioned Dirt Late Model events (non-national touring) affected by weather from July 28-30:
Batesville: Rain that hit Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Ark., after heat races forced series officials to postpone the remainder of Saturday’s $5,000-to-win Comp Cams Super Dirt Series to Thursday, Aug. 17.
Hummingbird: Saturday's Jay's Automotive United Late Model Series event at Hummingbird Speedway in Reynoldsville, Pa., was rained out and rescheduled for Sept. 16.
Shawano: Saturday's Wabam Dirt Kings Tour event at Shawano (Wis.) Speedway was rained out and rescheduled for Aug. 26.
Port Royal: Saturday's $5,000-to-win Living Legends Dream at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway was rained out with no makeup date immediately announed.
Tazewell: Saturday's Schaeffer's Southern Nationals finale at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway was rained out and rescheduled for Sunday. On-track activity for the $10,053-to-win event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Lernerville: Just as the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win Super Late Model feature was set to being, rain forced the postponement of Friday's Super Late Model event at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa. The race was rescheduled for Aug. 11.
Langlade County: Shortly before heat races were scheduled to hit the track, a severe storm hit the Antigo Fairgrounds facility, cancelling Friday’s $3,500-to-win Dirt Kings Tour event; the race won't be rescheduled.
Marshalltown: Friday's Hoker Trucking Series event at Marshalltown (Iowa) Speedway was rained out after time trials. The $4,644-to-win Dale DeFrance Memorial will start from scratch Aug. 4.
Golden Isles: Friday rain condensed the planned two-day Crate Racin’ USA Series event at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Ga., to a single day. Saturday’s race will pay $5,000-to-win (down from the originally planned $10,000 winner’s purse).
