Max Blair gets rolling at Freedom, where he grabbed a $2,500 victory.
What won the race: Ninth-starting Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., overtook Chris Hackett on the 23rd lap and went on to his second Zimmer's ULMS victory of the season. Blair earned $2,500. Dave Hess Jr. dropped Hacket to third late in the 30-lapper.
Quotable: “We kind of set up for the bottom. We knew we were starting in the back, and I knew that the top was a little faster early," Blair said. “So we kind of aimed to hopefully be able to run the bottom because we knew we had to, to be able to pass some guys. It all worked out. The racetrack was awesome. You could run all over it. It’s been a while since I’ve been on a racetrack that physically demanding and fun to race on. That was a good time.”
Key notes: Five cautions slowed the action in the first nine laps.. ... Blair picked up $300 from Murphy Logging for setting fast time.
On the move: Chad Ruhlman of Bemus Points, N.Y., started 17th and finished eighth.
Winner's sponsors: Blair’s Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Specialty Products, Murphy’s Logging, C&J Dairy, Previty’s Auto Wrecking, Upstate Auto Group, Sons of the American Legion Post 1460, Moody & Son Welding, Niemeyer’s Garage and Integra Racing Shocks.
