Keith Jackson swept the Winchester 200 weekend.
What won the race: Taking advantage of an outside-pole starting spot, Keith Jackson of Edenton, Md., overtook polesitter Jason Covert of York Haven, Pa., and never looked back en route to capturing the caution-free 50-lap feature. Backing up his $2,500 victory in Friday night's 25-lap preliminary feature, Jackson pushed his weekend earnings to $8,500 with the biggest win of his career.
Quotable: "When we started this season we set some goals and one of them was to win the Winchester 200." Jackson said. "We were good in qualifying again and when we drew the second starting spot for the feature, I knew we had a good enough car to win, It was just a matter of who got to the front first and we were able to do that."
Key notes: Covert held on to finish second while Rick Eckert of York,Pa., started and finished third in the rapidly-run feature. ... Eckert piloted Paul Crowl's No. 7 Rocket Chassis sted his normal Rocket house car. ... Brad Ritter, Allan Brannon, Tony Crim, Joe Warren, Frankie Helmick, Barry Miller, Chris Fletcher, Travis Stickley, Greg Elrod and Tom Decker Jr., were among drivers failing to make the feature lineup. ... Jackson led every lap of Friday's 30-lap Winchester 200 opener and earned $2,500. ... Crate Late Models were also in action. ... Winchester's final race for Super Late Models is the Gunter's Honey Fall Classic on Oct. 10-11.
