Bray gets $50,000 as Dillon captures finale

RURAL RETREAT, Va. (Oct. 18) — Ty Dillon of Welcome, N.C., won the Fastrak Racing Series Grand Nationals finale at Wythe Raceway while Royce Bray of Hull, Ga., took the $50,000 points championship for the Crate Late Model organization. Dillon led all the way at the half-mile oval for a victory while Bray, who started fourth, fell out of the top five in an early restart but recorded a seventh-place finish that was good to top Shanon Buckingham of Morristown, Tenn., by four points for the $50,000 windfall that goes to the Grand Nationals champion. | Slideshow | Slideshow of McCormick's accident
Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., finished second in the feature event followed by Buckingham, Ryan Gifford of Winchester, Tenn., and John Llewellyn of Knoxville, Tenn. Bray, who finished second in the previous Grand Nationals event at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, N.C., entered the Wythe feature with a five-point lead in the standings (and eight ahead of Buckingham). Unofficially, Bray finished with 95 points to top Buckingham (91), Davenport (82), Ron Parker (82) and Chris Steele (81).
