Hines tops Godsey for Brownstown victory
BROWNSTOWN, Ind. (July 10) — Jeremy Hines of Seymour, Ind., overtook Joe Godsey of Bedford, Ind., on the 13th lap Saturday at Brownstown Speedway and cruised to a $600 Indiana Late Model Series victory. Hines notched his second ILMS victory of the weekend following a Friday win at Bloomington Speedway.
The polesitting Godsey finished a straightaway behind in second with Mark Barber of North Vernon, Ind., in third in the 20-lapper. Several cautions slowed the action, including a turn-one tangle between Lindsay Wade and Zak Blackwood on the fifth lap.
Hines got up to third on a lap-four restart, took second from Barber at the halfway mark and stalked Godsey before drawing away over the final seven laps.
