Austin wins Lancaster's Dirt Wars event
LANCASTER, S.C. (Sept. 15) — Donnie Austin of Sumter, S.C., raced to a $3,000 victory on the NDRA Heintz Bros. Performance Road Show Saturday night when the Crate Late Model tour visit Lancaster Speedway for the second leg of the Dirt Wars doubleheader weekend.
The second-starting Austin led polesitter Gib Gibbons of Manning, S.C., to the finish with sixth-starting Johnathan Edwards of Lake Wylie, S.C., finishing third ahead of Ross Bailes of Clover, S.C., and Jeff Smith of Dallas, N.C.
Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, S.C., finished sixth after winning Friday’s Dirt Wars opener at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, N.C.
