Whitener earns $2,000 in Fastrak opener
GIBSONTON, Fla. (Jan. 31) — Mark Whitener of Middleburg, Fla., defended his home-state turf Thursday at East Bay Raceway Park in the opening Fastrak Racing Series event at the 37th annual Winternationals. Whitener earned $2,000 for the Crate Late Model victory in the first of three nights of action at the third-mile oval. | Slideshow
While Devin Dixon of Apollo Beach, Fla., crossed the finish line second, he was disqualified in postrace technical inspections, handing that position to Chris Ferguson of Mount Holly, N.C. Dennis “Rambo” Franklin of Gaffney, S.C., Brandon Umberger of Rural Retreat, Va., and Mavrick Varnadore of Dover, Fla., rounded out the top five finishers.
Friday’s action continues with a $2,000-to-win main event.
