Schirnhofer rallies at PPMS, gets first RUSH win
IMPERIAL, Pa. (Aug. 31) — Tommy Schirnhofer Jr. of Dormont, Pa., rallied from the 13th starting spot to win Saturday’s Sweeney Chevrolet-Buick-GMC RUSH Series feature at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, earning $1,500 in becoming the eighth different winner on the first-year Crate Late Model series.
Polesitter Ryan Montgomery of Fairmont, W.Va., was second while Mike Pegher of Wexford, Pa., advanced through the field to finish third after starting 20th. Ninth-starting Rocky Kugel of East Liverpool, Ohio, was fourth with 16th-starting Ben Policz of Pittsburgh, Pa., rounding out the race’s top five finishers.
