Max Blair leads all but one lap, wins at McKean
From series reports
EAST SMETHPORT, Pa. (May 24) — Fourth-starting Max Blair of Titusville, Pa., powered into the lead on the second lap and led the rest of the 25-lapper for a $1,200 victory in a Fastrak Racing Series Northeast event at McKean County Raceway. The 18-year-old Blair, son of former MACS champion Robbie Blair, deftly handled lapped traffic through the final 15 laps to beat Greg Oakes to the checkered flag.
"That was a blast, but I'm exhausted," said the 18-year-old winner. "I don't know if I could have done another five laps. I had no idea where anyone was at and how big of a lead I had."
Mike Wonderling Sr. survived a deflating tire to finish third while Bobby Powell and Jim Frank rounded out the top five in a Crate Late Model race where 20 of 24 starters finished. Early leader Andy Buckley, making his Late Model debut, led the first lap but was sidelined by mechanical problems on the eighth lap while running fifth. The only caution appeared on the initial start in a jamup that eliminated Tom Snyder Jr.
