Division rookie Guidace rolls to Mercer win

MERCER, Pa. (May 26) — Making just his fifth Crate Late Model start, hometown driver Frank Guidace led all 25 laps of the Steel Valley Memorial Day Classic for a Fastrak Racing Series Northeast victory at Mercer Raceway Park. The 2006 Mercer modified champion used the outside to grab the lead from polesitter Tommy Snyder Jr. and never looked back for a $1,200 victory. | Slideshow
Seventh-starting Jay Watson, running the high groove, finished second and halted the charge of 12th-starting Max Blair, who entered the race with victories the previous two nights at McKean County Raceway and Tri-City Raceway. Mike Pegher Jr. was fourth and last year's Fastrak Northeast champ Alan Dellinger rallied from 14th to finish fifth.
