Earl grabs first victory on Go Nuclear tour
BROCKVILLE, Ontario (Oct. 20) — Corey Earl of Picton, Ontario, led all the way Sunday at Brockville Speedway for his first victory on the Go Nuclear Late Model Series. Earl earned $1,000 for the 35-lap victory that was part of the fifth annual 1000 Islands RV DirtCar Northeast Fall Nationals.
Greg Belyea of Frankford, Ontario, was second followed by Rick Miller, Brandon Mowat and Harry Halliday. Series points leader Dale Caswell of Central Square, N.Y., was running in the top five when he blew a right-rear tire; he finished eighth.
Several cautions slowed the action, including on the 12th lap when Mat Vanderlinden hit a tire barrier inside turn one, collecting five competitors and knocking Mike Trapp out of the race.
