Overton scores $5,000 victory in Modoc 100
MODOC, S.C. (March 8) – Brandon Overton of Appleton, Ga., registered a lucrative $5,000 victory Saturday night at Modoc Raceway, capturing the 60-lap Crate Late Model feature that was part of the 4/10-mile track’s Modoc 100. | Slideshow
Coming off a head-turning Speedweeks Super Late Model stint at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla., during which he drove a new Darrell Lanigan-designed Club 29 car to his first-ever World of Outlaws Late Model Series heat-race win, Overton jumped into the yellow Kar House No. 54 he campaigns often in Crate Late Model action and promptly dominated Saturday’s special program. The rising young driver cruised under the checkered ahead of Douglasville, Ga.’s Michael Page.
Travis Pennington of Winston, Ga., finished third, followed by Josh Adkins of Talledega, Ala., and Tom Maddox of Centre, Ala.
A field of 45 cars was signed in for the event.
