Buckingham earns $2,000 Fastrak win at Bulls Gap

BULLS GAP, Tenn. (June 21) — Shanon Buckingham of Morristown, Tenn., overtook Ty Dillon midway through a 40-lap Fastrak Racing Series event at Volunteer Speedway and led the rest of the way for $2,000 victory. “We kind of had to work for this one tonight,” said Buckingham, the night's fast qualifier who started third after a redraw. “I guess we were fortunate to at least get the third spot instead of maybe being put back to sixth on the start."
The 16-year-old Dillon, whose older brother Austin won the night's Super Late Model feature, led from the outset and cross the finish line second. But Dillon was disqualified along with teammate Ryan Gifford, who crossed the line third, for illegal tires. That moved 14th-starting Steve Jones and Lee Cooper into the top three for the official rundown.

Jensen Ford was sent to the infield by Fastrak officials after spinning Ryan Gifford during a caution period; Ford was unhappy after contact between the two on the 25th lap. ... Fastrak touring action returns to Volunteer for another $2,000-to-win event on Sept. 6.
