Dona Marcoullier tops Spangler at Wood Tic

MERRITT, Mich. (Sept. 20) — Rallying from his ninth starting spot, Dona Marcoullier of Houghton Lake, Mich., overtook polesitter Eric Spangler of Lake City, Mich., in the second half of the 40-lap Wood Tic and went on to victory at Merritt Speedway. The event was a makeup after weather spoiled the July 19-20 event two months earlier.
Spangler, the 2005 race winner, settled for second while Donnie Marcoullier, the race winner's father, finished third. Eighth-starting Rich Neiser of Fruitport, Mich., was fourth and David Hilliker of Midland, Mich., rounded out the top five.
