Sheppard tops Feger for $2,000 Lincoln victory

LINCOLN, Ill. (April 26) — Polesitter Steve Sheppard Jr. of New Berlin, Ill., earned $2,000 for Sunday's victory in the 40-lap Monster Midwest Tour event at Lincoln Speedway. Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., winner of the series opener the previous night in Boswell, Ind., advanced two positions to finish second at the quarter-mile oval in central Illinois.
Kevin Weaver of Gibson City, Ill., was third in the event on the tour that runs under UMP DIRTcar rules while Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Ill., and Eric Smith of Bloomington rounded out the top five. Heat winner Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., started fifth but finished 18th.
The next series action is May 26-29 with events at Shepp's Speedway in Alexander, Ill., Peoria Speedway, La Salle Speedway and Farmer City Raceway.
