Matthees snaps Simpson's five-victory streak
WEST UNION, Iowa (June 9) — Lance Matthees of Winona, Minn., raced to victory Wednesday at Fayette County Speedway, ending Chad Simpson’s five-race winning streak to the start the second season on the Dart Corn Belt Clash tour. Matthees earned $2,000. | Slideshow
Adam Hensel of Barron, Wis., challenged Matthees but settled for second while Simpson, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, rallied from mid-pack to finish third in his first series outing of the season that didn’t end in victory lane. Scott Reichers of Belmont, Wis., and Jeff Aikey of Waterloo, Iowa, rounded out the top five. Polesitter Jake Meier of Tipton, Iowa, ended up 12th.
