Wells races to seventh Show Me Series victory
HUMBOLDT, Kan. (July 16) — Series points leader Justin Wells of Aurora, Mo., continued his domination on the Race Brothers Show Me Racing Series on Friday with victory at Humboldt Speedway. Wells earned $1,000 for his series-leading seventh victory of the season and 30th of his career.
Wells, who started seventh, was up to fourth by the 13th lap and kept rolling until taking the lead from Randy Zimmerman of Fort Scott, Kan., on the 28th lap. Zimmerman settled for second with Larry Campbell of Van Buren, Ark., in third. Ken Essary of Cape Fair, Mo., was fourth and Dwight Neihoff of Lockwood, Mo., posted his best series finish of the season in fifth.
Wells hasn’t finished worse than second in nine series events as the tour heads for a Saturday race at Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Okla.
