Feger tops Van Wormer for $6,000 at Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. (Sept. 29) — Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., outdueled Jeep Van Wormer of Pinconning, Mich., to capture the 57th annual Illinois State Championship. Feger earned $6,000 for winning the non-touring UMP DIRTcar-sanctioned event.
Van Wormer swapped the lead with Feger before fading to finish fifth in the 90-lap event, cut 10 laps because of curfew. Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Ill., was second followed by Mike Provenzano of Marsielles, Ill. Hometown driver Todd Bennett rallied from 19th to finish fourth in a race postponed by Sept. 25 rain.
