Vaught completes $6,500 Muskogee sweep
MUSKOGEE, Okla. (Sept. 24) — Will Vaught of Crane, Mo., completed a sweep of the Topless Thunderfest weekend on Saturday, collecting $6,500 at Thunderbird Speedway for winning the doubleheader sanctioned by the MARS DIRTcar Series and National Championship Racing Association DIRTcar Series. | Slideshow
The 24-year-old Vaught added Saturday's $3,000 victory to his $2,500 triumph on Friday night at the half-mile Muskogee County Fairgrounds oval. He started outside the front row Saturday and led all 30 laps to complete a sweep that paid a $1,000 bonus.
MARS points leader Brad Looney of Republic, Mo., finished second for the second straight night followed by R.C. Whitwell of Tucson, Ariz. Jack Sullivan of Greenbrier, Ark., and Jesse Stovall of Galena, Mo., rounded out the top five finishers.
