Waseleski Jr. wins opener at Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. (Sept. 22) — Tom Waseleski Jr. of Pengilly, Minn., raced to victory in Saturday night’s Thunder in the Pines preliminary feature at Grand Rapids Speedway in the WISSOTA-sanctioned season-ending weekend.
The eighth-starting Waseleski was followed at the finish by outside polesitter Eric Breeschoten of Buffalo, Minn., and Jeff Provinzino of Hibbing, Minn. Steve Laursen of Cumberland, Wis., and Terry Lillo of Duluth, Minn., rounded out the race’s top five finishers. Friday rain pushed action back a day and Saturday's opening round feature was followed by Sunday's $2,000-to-win finale.
