Balcaen grabs first NLRA victory of 2013
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Aug. 10) — Polesitter Mike Balcaen of Winnipeg, Manitoba, claimed Saturday’s Northern LateModel Racing Association event at Jamestown Speedway, earning $1,100 for his first series victory of the season.
Balcaen, a four-time NLRA champion, led Jeremy Keller of Mandan, N.D., to the finish with Joey Pederson of Grand Forks, N.D., third. Kent Arment of Aberdeen, S.D., was fourth with Hank Berry of Sidney, Mont., rounding out the race’s top five finishers.
Notes: Balcaen earned his 20th career NLRA victory in the second of three NLRA events this week. ... Kent Arment rallied from 13th to win Thursday's NLRA stop at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. ... The tour moves to Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, Minn., on Sunday.
