Stovall rules Salina, Jackson takes MARS title
SALINA, Okla. (Sept. 20) — Jesse Stovall’s 2013 MARS DIRTcar Series campaign may have been a struggle for much of the season, but it ended on major high note Saturday night at Salina Highbanks Speedway.
Stovall, the 2012 MARS champion, claimed a $3,000 victory Saturday to complete a sweep of 3/8-mile oval’s doubleheader weekend that wrapped up the season for both the MARS Series and the National Championship Racing Association. | Slideshow
Tony Jackson Jr. of Lebanon, Mo., who finished second to Stovall in Friday’s weekend opener, was fifth in Saturday’s finale to wrap up his first MARS championship.
Brad Looney of Republic, Mo., was second in Saturday’s feature while home-state driver Gary Christian of Broken Bow finished third for the second straight night and Justin Asplin of Birch Tree, Mo., scored his second top five of the weekend with a fourth-place finish.

Stovall scored his fifth MARS victory of the season and his third in the past four series events. His 17th-career series victory moved him ahead of Billy Moyer for fourth on the tour’s all-time wins list. ... Jacob Magee wrapped up his first NCRA championship.
