Blair outruns Dohm for IRS win at Tyler County

MIDDLEBOURNE, W.Va. (July 27) — Robbie Blair of Titusville, Pa., regaining the lead on lap 21 after Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, Va., grabbed the point on lap 18, led the remainder of the Legends of the Ring 50 for his first career victory at Tyler County Speedway. Blair's victory paid $5,000 and extended his points lead on the Independent Racing Series.
Dohm shadowed Blair following the race's caution on lap 36, but Blair remained in control the final 14 laps as Dohm settled for second. Mike Balzano of Parkersburg, W.Va., took third from polesitter Rick Williams of Beckley, W.Va., in the race's late stages. Reigning IRS champion Rick Aukland of Zanesville, Ohio, was fifth.
Notes: Doug Dodd of Cambridge, Ohio, rallied from deep in the field to finish sixth. ... Aukland, who finished fifth in the IRS feature, won the modified main event. ... Sonny Conley won the Crate feature shortened by rain after 16 laps. ... The next Tyler County special for Super Late Models is Aug. 3's Earl Hill Memorial, a Unified Race Force Championship event paying $4,000 to the winner.
