Andrews holds off Rhebergen for Woodhull win
From series reports
WOODHULL, N.Y. (Aug. 2) — Series points leader Todd Andrews of Eldred, Pa., completed a weekend sweep on the Northern Tier United Late Model Series by holding off Brent Rhebergen's late charge at Woodhull Raceway. Andrews, making his first start at Woodhull in more than five years, led every lap of the 17th annual Craig Norton Late Model Reunion to collect $2,400 and complete a $5,400 weekend on the series following a victory two nights earlier at McKean County (Pa.) Raceway.
Rhebergen, of Clymer, N.Y., broke into the top five on the 11th lap and took second from Bob Close of Eldred with nine laps remaining. Rhebergen made a hard charge on the final lap but fell short to settle for second with Close, Jason Dupont of Lewis Run, Pa., and Bobby Stokes of Milton, Pa., rounding out the top five. Bump Hedman of Sugar Grove, Pa., started on the front row but was shuffled back early and finished sixth.
Notes: Andrews drove a Rayburn Race Car at Woodhull after winning in a GRT two nights earlier at McKean. The team switched cars because of a change in track conditions following a 6 p.m. rain shower. ... Jeff Hoffman fell out of the feature with apparently engine problems on the 17th lap. ... ULMS competitors return to action Sept. 26-27 at McKean County for the Fall Classic with $12,000 possible for a single driver.
