SARVER, Pa. (Aug. 7) — Reigning series champion Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, Pa., overtook polesitter Boom Briggs of Bear Lake, Pa., with a high-side move on a lap-17 restart at Lernerville Speedway and raced to his first career victory on the Unified Force Racing Championship Series. Ferree, who moved into the series points lead over John Mollick of Toronto, Ohio, earned $2,000 for leading the last half of the Lunarville 33. | Slideshow

Briggs, who led the first 16 laps, crossed the stripe .639 seconds behind Ferree while ninth-starting Chub Frank of Bear Lake was third. Rob Blair of Titusville, Pa., and Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, Pa., rounded out the top five.

Mollick, who won the previous UFO event at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex, entered the racing leading the series points but dropped out on the 21st lap and finds himself 13 points behind Ferree in the title chase.
