HESSTON, Pa. (June 12) — Two-time track champion Rance Garlock of Three Springs, Pa., became the third leader in three laps Saturday at Hesston Speedway and led the rest of the way for a Cline Construction Steel Block Bandits victory. Garlock overtook Bruce Kane of Glen Burnie, Md., on the 23rd lap and raced to a 30-lap victory worth $1,500.
A low-running Kane led the first 15 laps before giving up to the point to a higher-running Allen Brannon of Stephens City, Va. Kane edged back ahead on lap 22, but Garlock went past Kane and Brannon to grab a lead he’d never give up at the 4/10-mile oval.
Brannon finished second followed by Kane, Bradley Kling of Three Springs and Kyle Merkel of Gilbertsville, Pa. Four cautions slowed the action, none for major incidents.
