Carrier tops James for $5,000 at Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Aug. 20) – Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, W.Va., outdueled Scott James of Lawrenceburg, Ind., to score a $5,000 victory in Saturday night’s unsanctioned Fred Dillow Memorial at Portsmouth Raceway Park. The triumph is Carrier’s six special-event victory of the season.
James settled for the runner-up finish while Delmas Conley of Wheelersburg, Ohio, advanced from his 14th starting position to finish third. Rod Conley, also of Wheelersburg, followed his father to the finish in the fourth position with Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., rounding out the top five finishers.
