Hometown driver wins $2,000 at Eastside
WAYNESBORO, Va. (Sept. 9) – Hometown driver Greg Roberson dominated Friday night’s D&D Auto Recycling Steel Block Bandits event at Eastside Speedway, leading flag-to-flag for his third career series victory and first of 2011. Roberson earned $2,000. | Slideshow
Fellow hometown driver Joey Leavell scored the runner-up finish with Rick Singleton of Huntington, Pa., third. David Watts of Buchanan, Va., was fourth with Gerald Davis of Delray, W.Va. rounding out the top five finishers.
Notes: The 40-lap race was slowed by just one caution, which was caused by an incident involving Billy Beachler and Petey Coffey. ... Series points leader Walker Arthur, one spot ahead of his closest points chaser, Booper Bare. ... Besides Saturday’s event at Natural Bridge Speedway, the series has two more events remaining on its schedule, a $4,000 to win race Oct. 14-15 at Allegany County Speedway in Cumberland, Md., and Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pa., Oct. 21-22.
