Roberson completes Steel Block Bandits sweep
NATURAL BRIDGE, Va. (Sept. 10) – Greg Roberson of Waynesboro, Va., completed a sweep of the D&D Auto Recycling Steel Block Bandits doubleheader weekend, picking up a $2,000 victory Saturday night at Natural Bridge Speedway. | Slideshow
Roberson, who won the tour’s event Friday night at Eastside Speedway in Waynesboro, Va., led every lap of Saturday night’s feature to score the win over Booper Bare of Rockbridge Baths, Va. Justin Williams of Shipman, Va., was third with Wes Bonebrake of Hagerstown, Md. fourth and Tanner Kerr of Winchester, Va., fifth.
Notes: Roberson’s back-to-back victories are the first by any driver in the tour’s history. ... Matt Cosner was running fourth when mechanical issues forced him out of the race. ... Series points leader Walker Arthur ran into trouble late in the race when he went off the top side of the racetrack while running in the top five. He ended up 11th. ... Rick Singleton had a flat tire on lap 15, but recovered to finish ninth. ... The race was slowed by three cautions. ... Two events remain on the tours schedule: a $5,000-to-win event Oct. 14-15 at Allegany County Speedway in Cumberland, Md., and a $4,000-to-win race Oct. 21-22 at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Marklysburg, Pa.
