Lathroum earns $5,000 in Raye Vest opener
WINCHESTER, Va. (Oct. 14) – Jamie Lathroum of Mechanicsville, Md., picked up a $5,000 victory Friday night during the first night of the two-race Raye Vest Memorial at Winchester Speedway.
Lathroum scored the victory over runner-up finisher Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., and third-place finisher Vic Coffey of Caledonia, N.Y. Jason Covert of York Haven, Pa., was fourth driving a Ernie Davis-owned Rocket Chassis. Rick Eckert of York, Pa., rounded out the race’s top five finishers.
Winchester will host the Raye Vest Memorial finale Saturday night, with $10,000 going to the winner. The event, which was originally scheduled for Aug. 26-27 before being postponed by rain, honors Raye Vest, Eckert’s long-time car owner.
