Chamberlain tops Stapleton, claims first ADRA win
WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio (May 24) — Polesitter Duane Chamberlain of Richmond, Ind., raced to his first victory on the American Dirt Racing Association tour Friday night at Moler Raceway Park after holding off late-race pressure from fellow front-row starter Chad Stapleton of Edinburgh, Ind.
Chamberlain led all 40 laps at the quarter-mile oval, claiming the victory over John Whitney of West Chester, Ohio, who got by Stapleton late in the race to claim the runner-up finish. Stapleton settled for third, with Rod Conley Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Mark Frazier Chillicothe, Ohio, rounding out the top-five in a race slowed by six cautions.
Notes: Chamberlain drives a Rocket Chassis with sponsorship from Miller Lite, St. Henry Nite Club, Creekside and Best Performance. ... The main event went green around 9:55 p.m. local time and was slowed by six cautions. ... Chamberlain earned his second victory of the season. His first came in weekly action at Florence (Ky.) Speedway on April 27. ... Devin Gilpin won the modified feature. ... The series is idle for nearly two months before returning to action on July 13 at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Hanover, W.Va.
