Boggs repeats at PRP's Coleman Memorial
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (May 26) — Jackie Boggs of Grayson, Ky., repeated his Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 victory Sunday at Portsmouth Raceway Park, winning the race that honors the late track owner for the second straight year. Boggs pocketed $5,000 for the flag-to-flag victory.
Seventh-starting Rod Conley of Wheelersburg, Ohio, was second while Ben Adkins of West Portsmouth, Ohio, gained two spots to finish third. R.J. Conley, Rod’s younger brother, was fourth and Josh McGuire of Grayson gave Kentucky two drivers in the top five.
The feature was slowed by three cautions, one each for spins by Paul Davis and Mick Sansom and another for a lap-41 tangle between second- and third-running Jason Montgomery and Steve Lucas, who were both knocked out of contention. Lucas started on the pole.
