Beard's third MSRA victory comes at Poinsett County

HARRISBURG, Ark. (Aug. 9) — Kyle Beard of Trumann, Ark., moved around polesitter Jesse Stovall of Galena, Mo., to lead the fifth lap and dominated the rest of the 40-lapper for an O'Reilly Mid-South Racing Association victory at Poinsett County Raceway. Beard earned $2,000 for his third series victory of the season. Joey Mack of Benton, Mo., finished second while Jon Kirby of Russellville, Ark., rallied from his 13th starting spot to finish third. Stovall was knocked out of contention on the 25th lap after contact with the lapped car of Randy Mitchell.
Notes: Poinsett County drew its largest crowd of the year. ... Rain sprinkles fell at the start of the race but the event was completed without heavier rain. ... The race was slowed by two cautions, both involving Randy Mitchell. ... Charlie Cole switched to a backup car for the main event after mechanical problems in his heat. ... The series returns to action at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., on Aug. 30.
