Madden rules Cherokee again, earns $10,000

GAFFNEY, S.C. (Sept. 14) — Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., earned $10,000 for his victory in the second annual Hall of Fame 75 at Cherokee Speedway as he notched his sixth O'Reilly Southern All Star East victory of the season. Madden, who has five series victories at Cherokee, overtook polesitter Randle Chupp of Mooresville, N.C., on the 22nd lap and never looked back in racing to the checkered flag.
Chupp settled for second followed by Freddy Smith of Seymour, Tenn., and hometown driver Dennis Franklin, who led the first nine laps. Petey Ivey of Union, S.C., rounded out the top five. Series points leader Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., finished seventh.

Madden has 13 victories overall in 2008. ... Jonathan Davenport, who won the Carolina Clash race at Wythe (Va.) Speedway the previous night, was the third fastest qualifier but scratched thereafter with engine problems. ...
