Roberts grabs $3,000 SAS East win at Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (Sept. 26) — Starting outside the front row, Casey Roberts jumped into the lead and stayed in control all 30 laps at Golden Isles Speedway for an O'Reilly Southern All Star East victory worth $3,000. The defending series champion, rebounding from carburetor problems on his car during time trials, extended his points lead heading into the Oct. 18 season finale at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C.
Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., second in series points, was also second in the 30-lapper while polesitter Jeremy Faircloth of Swainsboro, Ga., was third. Brent Dixon of Elberton, Ga., and Chesley Dixon of Swainsboro rounded out the top five. Roberts came back the next night for a $5,000 victory on the big-brother Southern All Star tour.
