Williams gets $5,000 for 23 laps at 201 Speedway
SITKA, Ky. (Aug. 1) — Rick Williams of Beckley, W.Va., earned $5,000 for a victory in the rain-shortened Pop's 40 at 201 Speedway. Williams was leading on the 23rd lap when rain halted the unsanctioned event at the eastern Kentucky oval.
Fast qualifier Terry Hicks of Willard, Ky., was second followed by Greg Oliver of Jackson, Ohio, and last year's winner Brandon Kinzer of nearby, Allen, Ky. Shannon Thornsberry of Martin, Ky., rounded out the top five.
