County Line Raceway
ELM CITY, N.C. (June 26) — Walker Arthur of Forest, Va., led all 40 laps Saturday at County Line Raceway as the Cline Construction Steel Block Bandits tour visited North Carolina for the first time. The series points leader swept the night by setting fast time, winning his heat race and dominating the feature.
Roger Lucas of Benson, N.C., chased Arthur all the way in second while Bruce Kane of Glen Burnie, Md., ended up third. James Batten of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Britches Liles of Bailey, N.C., rounded out the top five.
Damon Kotke was running third when he lost a tire early in the race. Seven cautions slowed the action, the most serious for Daniel Brown Jr.’s wreck in the turn-one wall for the final yellow.
