Rain halts SoNat'ls action at North Georgia
CHATSWORTH, Ga. (July 14) – Round three of the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series was halted by rain before the start of Thursday’s 53-lap main event at North Georgia Speedway. With the starting lineup for the $5,300-to-win event set through preliminary action, the feature will be run July 18 with hot laps scheduled for 8:30 p.m. | Slideshow
Mike Marlar, of Winfield, Tenn., posted a lap of 12.789 seconds around the third-mile racetrack to top the event’s 29 qualifiers. He’ll start from the pole Monday night with second-fastest qualifier David Payne of Murphy, N.C., alongside. Series points leader Chris Madden of Gray Courth, S.C., and Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tenn., will share the second row.
