Wall frosts field in 3rd straight MSCC opener

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (March 1) — Polesitter Chris Wall of Holden, La., captured South Mississippi Speedway's Frostbite 50 for the third consecutive year to open the Mississippi State Championship Challenge season. Wall topped fifth-starting David Ashley of Zachary, La., last year's MSCC champion, for the $5,000 victory. Anthony Burroughs of Athens, Ala., was third and 11th-starting Mike Boland of Cuba, Ala., finished fourth. Scott Slay of Clinton, Miss., started ninth and finished fifth as 14 drivers finished on the lead lap. James Ward of Lettsworth, La., who started outside the front row, lasted just four laps.
